Eastern North Carolina Association

ENCA Conference Minister

Rev. Dr. Dannie Williams

Rev. Dannie Williams (Ed.D) currently serves as Senior Pastor at Melfield United Church of Christ in Haw River N.C. Williams has served in leadership positions in the Southern Conference and the Eastern N.C. Association. He is the past President of the Southern Conference Board of Directors. He has also served as the Vice President of the Southern Conference. He is currently serving as the treasurer of the Southern Conference and the Eastern N.C. Association. Rev. Williams has served as pastor in the Southern Conference for over 40 years.

From central North Carolina to the coast, the Eastern NC Association includes some of North Carolina’s most famous landmarks and towns — including the Hatteras Lighthouse, the country’s first state university and the State Capitol. The Association is also home to over 75 churches that represent a range of communities. We want churches to send in their special programming dates to their Association so that it can be added to the Association and Conference Calendar.

  • Unity Through Music - Rev. David Callands, Rev. Linda Velto and Michelle Byrd

Not all churches sing gospel music, but all of us sing the Gospel! Can our music speak to everyone?Join a discussion about how music impacts our worship experience.

  • Theological Differences - Rev. Ervin Milton

    WORSHIP

As clergy and lay worshipers cross racial lines, both as participants and as worship leaders, it is helpful to understand as much as possible about the theological and cultural principles that undergird what we are attempting to experience. This is a basic conversation on a very complex issue.

  • Love is the Key - Rev. Anne Holmes

In this critical time, let's talk about how to love, honor and care about those who believe the same as we do as well as those who may be different. Will you/should you take a stand or lie low? How will we express courage, hope and love during these troubling times.

  • Crossing the Lines of Inequity - Rev. Donna Vanhook and Rev. Dr. Willie Mae Hawkins

The objective of this workshop is to provide a meaning of equity as it relates to church body life. Facilitators will center topics of health and wealth, politics and environment. Join the dialogue as we begin to deconstruct possible barriers to wholeness among churches in the body of Christ.

  • Youth involvement - Jennifer Watkins

Youth leaders and youth come discuss how we discuss youth needs from a church youth program. There will also be words from the Conference Minister and an opportunity to converse with him.
